Tonight more than 30,000 people from over 40 nationalities are converging on Parque Papa Francisco in Loures. The reason is David Guetta and The Monolith Tour, the show he describes as the most ambitious of his career — sound, light and technology crammed into one place until it stops resembling a concert and starts resembling an installation.

What time does David Guetta come on?

Gates open at 18:00 and the programme starts ten minutes later with Portuguese DJ Tiago Cruz. Guetta takes the stage at 21:30. Which means you can eat dinner at home and still make the part that matters, though anyone wanting a decent spot near the front should go early, as ever.

How do you get to Parque Papa Francisco?

Police are unambiguous on this: public transport is the way. By train, the stations to aim for are Sacavém and Bobadela, with shuttle services running to the site. If you are already in Parque das Nações you can walk in over the footbridges linking the two sides. Driving is where the night goes wrong — thirty thousand people leaving a park in Loures simultaneously is not a picture anyone enjoys.
