Non-governmental organisations and non-profit civil society entities working in the call’s areas: gender equality, combating domestic violence, non-discrimination and preventing human trafficking. The call, launched in March, aims to strengthen these organisations’ technical and financial capacity — in other words, it doesn’t just fund one-off projects, it funds muscle.

How much can each organisation receive?

Each approved operation gets eligible funding between €30,000 and €200,000, from a global budget of €4 million. The original deadline has already been extended once, to 17 July 2026 — best not to bet on a second extension.

Anyone working in education and training in Portugal has a few more weeks to claim European support. How and when do you submit?

Submission is electronic, through the Portugal 2030 platform, until 6pm on July 31, 2026. As with any EU funding call, the golden rule is not to leave it to the last day: the forms require documentation that takes time to gather, and the platform tends to clog up near the deadline.

July is the month pensioners’ bank accounts get a proper boost: Social Security pays the monthly pension and the holiday subsidy in one go this Wednesday, 8 July. In practice, millions of retirees receive the equivalent of two months’ pension in a single transfer.

When are July 2026 pensions paid in Portugal?

For Social Security pensioners, old-age, invalidity and survivor pensions — holiday subsidy included — land in accounts on 8 July. Those paid through the Caixa Geral de Aposentações (CGA) wait a little longer: the month’s pension plus the 14th-month payment arrives on 17 July, covering around half a million retired civil servants.

How much will you receive?

It depends on your pension. With this year’s update in force since January — 2.8% for pensions up to €1,074.26, and 2.27% and 2.02% for the brackets above — someone with 15 to 20 years of contributions has a minimum pension of €357.80, which means €715.60 this month. Those with 31 or more years of contributions receive at least €493.52, so a minimum July payment of €987.04.

Anything else worth knowing?

The pensioners’ holiday subsidy is paid in full, in one instalment — unlike some workers’ subsidies, it doesn’t come in twelfths. And it’s worth checking that your IBAN is up to date on Segurança Social Direta so the money doesn’t get lost along the way.

If you work in health or are training in the field, 2026 brings a big wave of hiring in the National Health Service. And unlike other state competitions, here the demand for professionals is real and spread across the country.

How many SNS posts are open, and where?

The Health Ministry identified 711 places to hire young doctors in general and family medicine, 68 in public health and 1,749 in the hospital area. The Northern Regional Health Administration opened a procedure for 61 places in the special nursing career.
