Diomande is on Nottingham Forest's radar, and they've put 40 million on Sporting's table

The summer market is heating up at Alvalade, and the name of the moment is Ousmane Diomande. Premier League side Nottingham Forest have moved seriously for the Ivorian centre-back and already tabled a bid to Sporting. Nothing is done, but talks are advanced and this one could move fast.
How much are Nottingham Forest offering for Diomande?
By the numbers doing the rounds, the English club put down around 40 million euros plus add-ons, a figure that could climb to 45 million. Sporting, for their part, want to push the transfer higher — closer to 50 million — to let go of a defender they see as a future cornerstone. Diomande is under contract until 2030 with an 80-million release clause, so the Lions negotiate from a comfortable spot.
Who is Ousmane Diomande?
He’s 22, a Côte d’Ivoire international, and has been at Sporting since 2022/23, when he arrived for about 14.5 million. Last season he racked up 31 games, a goal and an assist, cementing his place as one of the league’s most coveted centre-backs. A sale at this price would be a huge win for the club’s books.
There’s no signed agreement yet, and in the transfer window everything can flip in a day. The move adds to a summer in which Sporting have already turned down a bid for Irankunda and are reshaping the squad for Europe. Official moves, once sealed, appear on Sporting’s website.
