Jhon Durán has joined Benfica on loan — and the club isn't done shopping

Benfica have finally shifted gears in the market. After a few quiet weeks, the club made Jhon Durán official — the 22-year-old Colombian striker arriving on loan from Al-Nassr — and, the very next day, announced Swedish left-back William Bogojevic too. Things are moving again in Lisbon.
Durán is the headline name. He comes in from one of the richest clubs on earth to add muscle and goals up front, and the deal has a detail worth noting: a buy option that could turn the loan into a permanent transfer. This isn’t just any loan — it’s a bet with a future built in.
How much would Durán cost Benfica to buy?
For now, nothing fixed beyond the loan: Benfica take the player from Al-Nassr for one season. The clever part is the buy option, valued at around €30 million — so if Durán delivers, the club can make the signing permanent when the loan ends. It’s the age-old formula for spreading risk: prove it on the pitch first, open the wallet later.
Who else has arrived at Benfica?
Bogojevic strengthens the left flank on a deal to 2028, and before him the club had already brought in winger Kamiński from Cologne on a multi-year contract and promising Lithuanian midfielder Kristupas Liutvinas, just 16 — one of those investments aimed squarely at tomorrow. Add it up and Bruno Lage’s squad is filling out, and with the window open until September, the saga will probably run on. Each signing is confirmed on Benfica’s official site.
Across town and up in Porto, the market is bubbling too: Sporting are chasing Irankunda, a sign this summer has plenty left in it for the big three.
