Portugal Fashion Experience takes over Porto from 1 to 4 July
Runway shows, industry and networking come together over four days across Porto, Matosinhos and a debut in Ílhavo. National fashion on the big stage.
If you’re after a plan with a bit of style this week, the North has you covered. Portugal Fashion Experience kicks off on 1 July and runs through the 4th, spread across Porto, Matosinhos and — new this year — Ílhavo.
It’s more than a run of pretty catwalk shows. The programme blends fashion, industry, innovation and lifestyle, with presentations, a tour of textile production, the Portugal Fashion Summit, the BLOOM space for new designers and plenty of professional networking.
An industry-facing start
The first day has a deliberately industrial, strategic focus, with a visit to production in Paços de Ferreira open to press and guests. It’s a reminder that, behind the runways, there’s a textile sector employing thousands of people and standing among the strongest faces of Portuguese exports.
Across the four days, anyone keen on trends will have plenty to choose from, with established designers sharing the bill with emerging names. It’s the kind of event where you can catch next season’s collection and get a read on where Portuguese fashion is heading.
Worth a look
Even if you don’t live and breathe fashion, it’s a fine excuse to explore Porto’s creative scene on a summer weekend. And let’s be honest, seeing up close the work of the people who design what we’ll be wearing always has its charm.
