How does Big Brother Verão 2026 work?
Portugal’s summer edition kicked off on 28 June with 18 anonymous contestants — nine men and nine women — locked into the country’s most-watched house, with Maria Botelho Moniz hosting and a prize that can reach 100,000 euros. Sunday galas settle evictions and leaderships, with special shows through the week; the format, the commentator panel and the prize maths are in our full guide to the season.

Sara has won Big Brother Verão. In Friday’s final on 4 September, hosted by Maria Botelho Moniz, she took the closing duel against Bóris by 59% to 41% and collected 45,400 euros. Nuno finished third and João Ventura fourth, from a final six that also included Ana Luísa and Vanessa. That closes a season which began on 28 June with eighteen unknowns, and it closes this page too: the full account of the night is in our report on the final.

The Big Brother Verão final lands this Friday, 4 September, with Maria Botelho Moniz presenting. TVI has named the finalists: Ana Luísa, Bóris, João Ventura, Nuno, Sara and Vanessa. The cheque currently stands at 44,000 euros and can still rise before the winner is announced, against a prize ceiling billed at 100,000 euros.

Big Brother Verão’s penultimate gala was a double eviction night. Tatiana went first, with 20% of the vote to stay, the lowest of the night. Afonso followed, losing the final head-to-head to Ana Luísa by 42% to 58%. Family visits and Afonso’s Curva da Vida segment filled out the show, which now heads into its finale.

Raquel Rodrigues became the tenth contestant evicted from Big Brother Verão. At Sunday’s gala on 23 August, hosted by Maria Botelho Moniz, she drew the fewest votes to stay from a five-strong nomination panel that also held Tatiana, Sara, Bóris and Nuno. She goes out within weeks of the final, having survived the 9 August head-to-head against Mariana Sá. The same gala revealed the season’s first finalist.

The house has gone into the week of its tenth eviction with five names up: Tatiana, Raquel, Sara, Bóris and Nuno. It is a wide panel for this stage of the series, and for the first time it includes a former head of house — Bóris used his nomination power a week ago to put Tatiana up, and has now landed on the list himself. Sunday’s gala on 23 August, hosted by Maria Botelho Moniz, decides who leaves. TVI has said the rules will run backwards that night, in what the channel is calling the Gala do Reverso.

Miguel Gameiro became the ninth housemate voted out of Big Brother Verão. On Sunday’s gala, hosted by Maria Botelho Moniz, he polled just 7 per cent of the public vote, the lowest share behind any eviction this season. He leaves days after Bóris used the head-of-house power to put Tatiana straight up for nomination. The week restarts with a fresh leader’s task.

Bóris won the leader challenge, took immunity with it, and used his direct nomination to put Tatiana up for eviction. The week’s nomination round closed after that, and Sunday night’s gala with Maria Botelho Moniz decides the season’s ninth eviction. Mariana Sá was the last to go, in the 9 August gala.
10 August 2026
Mariana Sá became the eighth housemate voted out of Big Brother Verão. On Sunday’s gala, once Sara Alves, Afonso Vital and Ana Luísa had been saved, it came down to her and Raquel Rodrigues, and Mariana finished on 22 per cent of the public vote. The exit caught the house off guard, since she had been one of the season’s most prominent contestants, and it left Miguel on his own days after the pair confirmed their relationship on air. A new head-of-house task starts the week.
3 August 2026
Joana became the seventh housemate voted out this season. Sunday’s gala ran on a save vote, and the 23-year-old from Aveiro drew the smallest share of the public vote at 10 per cent, going out from a panel that also held Ana Luísa, Nuno, Tatiana and Vanessa, all of whom stayed. Her exit left Bóris in tears, the two having been close since she entered the house. A new head-of-house task starts the week over.
2 August 2026
Gala night, and the season’s seventh eviction is settled tonight. Ana Luísa, Joana, Nuno, Tatiana and Vanessa go up, and this time the vote is to save — whoever collects the fewest public votes goes home. The panel came out of a week in which Sara won the head-of-house task and sent Vanessa straight to the block, while Raquel used her power to swap Miguel out for Joana. Voting closes during the TVI broadcast.
29 July 2026
The house went into rebuild mode after the double-eviction night. Sara won the leader’s task, took immunity and used the power to nominate Vanessa directly; Vanessa responded by handing immunity to Raquel. On Monday’s special, Raquel triggered the swap, pulling Miguel out of the lineup and putting Joana in. That leaves Ana Luísa, Joana, Nuno, Tatiana and Vanessa up for eviction, and this round the public votes to save — whoever gets the fewest votes becomes the season’s seventh eviction.
28 July 2026
Sunday’s gala brought a double eviction and caught the house off guard. Joaquim went first, picked by viewers with 7% of the vote from a five-name shortlist that also included Nuno, Sara, Raquel and Vanessa. The second exit of the night was Iris, on 13%, from a nominee group of Ana Luisa, Iris and Miguel. New nominations were then made live during the gala itself.
26 July 2026
It is gala night on TVI, with the season’s fifth eviction decided tonight. Joaquim, Nuno, Raquel, Sara and Vanessa go in nominated after a messy week: Bóris won the leader’s task and nominated Nuno and Raquel, then Raquel used the reversal twist to drag Joaquim in. The tie-break between Tatiana and Vanessa fell to the leader, who picked Vanessa. Voting closes during the broadcast.
21 July 2026
After Pedro’s exit, Bóris won the leadership and automatically nominated Nuno and Raquel — and Raquel used her reversal power to drag Joaquim in. With house votes and the grandmother-house nominations added, Sara led on seven and the leader’s tiebreak picked Vanessa over Tatiana. Joaquim, Nuno, Raquel, Sara and Vanessa are at risk; the eviction is decided at the 26 July gala.
20 July 2026
Sunday’s fourth eviction gala sent Pedro home as the night’s least-voted housemate, on just 11 per cent. Raquel and Nuno were saved first, Sara breathed easy on 45 per cent and Joaquim squeaked through with 44 — the house is one player lighter and nominations return this week.

It is gala night on TVI, with the season’s fourth eviction on the line: Joaquim, Nuno, Pedro, Raquel and Sara go into Sunday nominated, and one of them leaves the house tonight. The public decides, with voting open until it closes live during the broadcast.
12 July 2026
Sunday’s gala shook everything loose: Mariana Salgueiro became the week’s evictee and Afonso took over as house leader, opening his reign with a direct nomination for Pedro. In between came the courage button — Nuno pressed it, fattening the final prize by three thousand euros at the cost of a direct nomination — and Joana entered the main house carrying a secret mission.

A surprise mid-week gala caught the house and the audience off guard: João Gomes was the viewers’ choice to leave the show, in the season’s first lightning eviction.
