Tom Cruise and IShowSpeed join the World Cup closing ceremony — with Jennifer Hudson on the anthem
FIFA has added Tom Cruise, IShowSpeed, Post Malone, Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini and Nicole Scherzinger to the World Cup 2026 closing ceremony, Sunday at MetLife Stadium, 90 minutes before the final. Jennifer Hudson sings the US anthem.
The World Cup 2026 final will have more stars off the pitch than on it — and the pitch has Messi and Yamal. FIFA announced that Tom Cruise is joining Sunday’s closing ceremony at MetLife Stadium, alongside a bill that reads like a party playlist: Post Malone, Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini, Nicole Scherzinger and YouTube phenomenon IShowSpeed, the loudest fan Ronaldo ever had.
Who performs at the World Cup 2026 closing ceremony?
The confirmed line-up brings Tom Cruise in a special appearance, performances from Post Malone, Robbie Williams, Laura Pausini and Nicole Scherzinger, and IShowSpeed bridging to the younger stands. EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson opens proceedings with a special rendition of the US national anthem. The ceremony starts 90 minutes before kickoff — so anyone wanting the full show has a late-afternoon Sunday appointment, and our guide to watching the final in Portugal still applies.
What about the halftime show?
That’s a whole other championship: as we’ve covered, the first halftime show in World Cup history brings together Madonna, Shakira and BTS, with Justin Bieber confirmed as co-headliner. Between closing ceremony and halftime, FIFA has turned the final into a festival with a football match in the middle — the official programme is on FIFA’s site.
Argentina vs Spain decides the trophy; the rest of the day decides TikTok. Sunday has something for everyone.
