Tyla announces A*POP: new album release date set for 24 July
After Water and Push 2 Start, Tyla releases the album A*POP on 24 July 2026, blending South African amapiano with mainstream pop.
South Africa’s Tyla is set for a busy July. The singer who had half the world dancing amapiano with Water has announced her new album, A*POP, due out on 24 July 2026.
What do we know about A*POP?
It is the follow-up to the global success of Water and her more recent Push 2 Start, and it promises to keep the formula that made her a star: South African amapiano crossed with mainstream pop, built for the charts and the dancefloor. At 24, Tyla already has a Grammy to her name and the status of a new global face of African music.
When does A*POP come out?
A*POP lands on 24 July 2026. It is the same date another pop star has chosen to drop a record, so it promises to be a crowded day on the platforms. And there’s reason for Portuguese ears to pay attention: amapiano has long stopped being niche and has moved into playlists here, from summer festivals to radio.
One for the diary if you like catching albums the day they land.
