Ye plays his only Portuguese date on Friday, and it is in Faro
Ye, the artist who spent almost two decades performing as Kanye West, is at the Estádio Algarve on 7 August. It is his first show in Portugal since 2011.
Fifteen years after he last stood on a Portuguese stage, Ye is back on Friday. The show is on 7 August at the Estádio Algarve, outside Faro, and it is billed as his only Portuguese date. No second night, no Lisbon, no Porto.
His last visit was in 2011, under the name most people still use. In between there has been a change of stage name, several complete reinventions of the live show, and a public trajectory that split his own audience down the middle. The Algarve date comes as part of this summer’s European run, whose production is built around a single large-scale stage element rather than a conventional set.
What the show is like
People who caught earlier dates on this tour describe something stripped back: little choreography, enormous sound, and a staging built almost entirely from light. It is designed for an open stadium and to be watched from a distance, which suits the Faro venue.
Getting to the Estádio Algarve
The stadium sits between Faro and Loulé rather than in either town centre, so transport is the part worth planning. Coming from outside the Algarve, expect the Algarve line to Faro and a transfer from there. Driving, arrive early — parking capacity is good, but getting out afterwards is slow.
