Galp made 812 million euros by June and is raising the dividend on top
Galp's first-half 2026 profit rose 44% to 812 million euros on higher Brazilian output and a Brent price 28% dearer. The dividend climbs to 70 cents a share.
Some half-years a company works hard and earns little. For Galp, this was not one of them.
How much did Galp earn in the first half of 2026?
812 million euros, up 44% on the same period last year. The explanation stands on two legs. The first is Brazilian production, which grew 17%. The second is price: Brent gained 28% over a half-year in which the Middle East conflict never let the market settle, the same move that pushed the barrel above 100 dollars and made petrol dearer at the pump.
It is the sector’s oldest awkwardness. What hurts the driver’s wallet helps the producer’s accounts.
How big is Galp’s new dividend?
The board will propose a 10% increase in the dividend per share for 2026, taking it to 70 cents. The first interim payment is scheduled for August, so shareholders do not have to wait until next year to notice the difference.
The company also rewrote its full-year guidance, and not by a little. Expected EBITDA went from 2.6 billion to 4 billion euros, and operating cash flow from 2 billion to 3 billion. Revisions like that are not made out of optimism; they are made once the money has already landed.
On the same day, Galp announced the purchase of 15 wind farms in Spain, a sign that the renewable slice keeps growing while oil pays the bills. It is roughly the playbook of every European energy group right now, and it rests on something nobody controls: how long Brent holds at these levels. Market filings are published on the CMVM site.
