All 10 episodes of Nobody Wants This season 3 are streaming, and the will-they-won't-they is over
Netflix released the third season of Nobody Wants This on 22 October, all at once. Joanne and Noah move in together, the drama shifts to Sasha, Esther and Morgan, and Andrew Rannells, Keyla Monterroso Mejia and Sarah Silverman join the cast.
Season three of Nobody Wants This landed on Netflix on Thursday 22 October, all ten episodes at once. It also changes the question the show has run on until now.
For two seasons, the story of Joanne (Kristen Bell), an agnostic podcaster who talks about sex without a filter, and Noah (Adam Brody), a rabbi, was about whether the couple could survive their differences. Season two ended with them choosing each other again. In season three they move in together.
A settled couple, at last
Co-showrunners Jenni Konner and Bruce Eric Kaplan told Netflix’s own guide to the new season that they wanted to let the pair enjoy the good stretch rather than drag them back to “will they, won’t they”. Creator Erin Foster promises the flirting survives, and pops up herself in a cameo.
The drama moves to the people around them. Sasha (Timothy Simons) and Esther (Jackie Tohn) are back to dating, and Joanne’s sister Morgan (Justine Lupe) sees her career take off. In between there are unspoken feelings between Sasha and Morgan, which Netflix itself is already leaning on in its promotion.
New faces
Sarah Silverman plays Eden, a rabbi, Andrew Rannells is Sebastian and Keyla Monterroso Mejia is Amber, all in recurring roles. The first two arrive through the Judaism conversion class Joanne starts taking: Silverman is the rabbi who leads it, Rannells an opinionated classmate. Avan Jogia, Poorna Jagannathan, Sadie Sandler, Stephanie Koenig and Steven Weber guest star.
The season is one of the most talked-about of the week in the UK, where “Joanne” made X’s trending list and the show climbed Google searches. If you would rather something darker, Netflix’s September offering was a new season of Monster built around Lizzie Borden. For everyone else, it is ten half-hour episodes, about five hours that will vanish over a weekend.
