Are Ronaldo and Georgina getting married in Sintra on Saturday? Here is what is actually confirmed
Reports point to a Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodríguez wedding on 1 August at Quinta da Regaleira in Sintra. The couple have confirmed nothing and sources have denied the date.
Start with what is genuinely known: neither Cristiano Ronaldo nor Georgina Rodríguez has confirmed a date or a venue for the wedding. Everything else doing the rounds this week is rumour of varying confidence — and it is worth pulling the threads apart before anyone books a trip to Sintra.
Where would the Ronaldo and Georgina wedding be?
The TVI programme V+Fama says it received an invitation pointing to Saturday 1 August, at five in the afternoon, at Quinta da Regaleira. As staging goes, the choice would make sense. Regaleira is the neo-Manueline palace in Sintra with the spiral initiation well, the grottoes and the towers, part of the Sintra cultural landscape that UNESCO listed in 1995. You would struggle to find a more photogenic setting in Portugal.
Is there a confirmed date?
No. And this is where the story splits in two. While Portuguese and Spanish outlets were running the date and the venue, a source close to the couple denied the ceremony was happening this weekend. Neither of them has said anything publicly, and Quinta da Regaleira, when asked, said only that it would not comment on the matter — no confirmation, no denial, door left ajar.
What Ronaldo did say, at the time, was that the wedding would come after the 2026 World Cup. The proposal came last August, with a ring that generated a full year of column inches. So the broad window fits. What does not fit is the confidence with which one specific Saturday is being reported.
Georgina, meanwhile, has been doing what someone who became a public figure in her own right does, from the Cannes red carpet to fashion campaigns. If the wedding really is at Regaleira, official notices about visits and any closures will appear on the Quinta da Regaleira website.
Until then, the usual advice with this couple applies: wait for their Instagram. Historically, that is where the news breaks first, with nobody in between.
