Lisbon hosts Capital Markets Day: two days talking investment
Companies, investors and the finance minister at the same table. What's at stake when Portugal sits down with the people who have money to invest.
Some events fly under the public’s radar yet say a lot about where a country is heading. The “Capital Markets Day”, in Lisbon on 15 and 16 June, is one of them.
The idea is simple: put companies and investors in the same room, with real strategies and investment opportunities on the table. State and Finance Minister Joaquim Miranda Sarmento is the guest of honour and keynote speaker at the formal dinner that opens the gathering.
Why should this matter if you’re not playing the stock market? Because foreign money flowing into Portugal eventually shows up as jobs, projects and economic momentum — including beyond the big cities. When the country looks attractive, everyone stands to gain. We’ll keep an eye on what comes out of these two days.
