This is it. A whole month of football comes down to ninety minutes (or a hundred and twenty — nobody’s ruling that out) between Argentina and Spain at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, near New York. And if you’re watching from Portugal, it won’t cost you a cent.
What time is the World Cup 2026 final?
The final kicks off tonight, Sunday, at 8pm Lisbon time (7pm in the Azores) — 3pm on the US east coast, a late-afternoon slot built precisely to catch European prime time. You can watch the whole thing and still have dinner afterwards.
Where can I watch Argentina vs Spain in Portugal?
On TV, RTP1 carries the final free-to-air and Sport TV has it too. Online, you can stream it on RTP Play or Sport TV Multiscreen. Between the living room, the café and a phone at the beach, there’s no excuse to miss the ending.
As for the match, the cases have been made. Spain arrive having conceded just one goal all tournament; Argentina bring Messi’s World Cup farewell and the momentum of knocking England out in the semi-final. Slovenian referee Slavko Vinčić takes the whistle, the half-time show has Madonna, Shakira and BTS, and when it’s over Donald Trump hands out the trophy. The official match page is on FIFA’s site.
Whatever happens, this is the last whistle of this World Cup. Eight o’clock. Phones on silent.
