Portimão hosts MotoGP on 20-22 November, and the title could still be open
The Portuguese MotoGP Grand Prix runs from 20 to 22 November at the Algarve International Circuit. It is the second-to-last round of the season. Only three-day tickets are sold and children under three are not admitted.
MotoGP is back in the Algarve in three weeks. The Portuguese Grand Prix runs from 20 to 22 November at the Algarve International Circuit near Portimão, and this year it could matter a great deal.
A title still in play
Portimão is the second-to-last round, with only Valencia after it. With the Australian race washed out, Marc Márquez moved to the top of the standings on 365 points, ten clear of Jorge Martín, who broke his right arm in his sprint crash. Malaysia (30 October to 1 November) and Qatar still come first. If neither rider breaks clear by then, the Algarve may well be where it turns.
How tickets work
The detail that catches people out: single-day tickets are not sold. The standard ticket covers all three days, Friday to Sunday, and is bought through the circuit’s official channels. MotoGP also sells upgrade packages with paddock tours, a commentated lap of the track or grid access.
Children are admitted only if they are over three, as Portuguese law requires. Ticket questions go to the circuit on +351 282 405 600.
The weekend
Friday is free practice. Saturday brings qualifying and the sprint, and Sunday has the three main races, Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP. The circuit has not yet published exact session times.
Getting there
The track sits at Mexilhoeira Grande, a few minutes off the A22 motorway. Faro airport is about 53 minutes away by car. From Lisbon, allow two and a half hours via the A2 and A22. On a race weekend, leaving early is the whole strategy.
It may also be one of the last chances to follow MotoGP the old way at home, because from 2027 the series moves exclusively to DAZN in Portugal.
