U2 are coming to Estádio da Luz in Lisbon on Thursday 27 May 2027. It is the Portuguese stop on The Greatest Show on Earth, the band’s first stadium tour since 2019, and Wolf Alice are the support act.
If you want to be there, the dates that matter are this week. According to Live Nation’s official event page, the presale opens on Thursday 5 November at 10am, with the waiting room live from 9.30am. You need to register on that page beforehand to get in. General sale starts on Friday 6 November, also at 10am, with the virtual queue opening at 9am.
What we don’t know yet
Prices. The promoter hasn’t published them, and there is nothing yet on per-person ticket limits or door times. The band has talked about European tickets from 4 November, a day before the Portuguese presale, which usually means early access for subscribers to its own site. For everyone else, Live Nation’s dates are the ones to diary.
Latin America gives a hint of the demand. The February and March dates in Mexico City, São Paulo and Buenos Aires are already mostly sold out.
Sixteen years on
U2 have played Portugal seven times since 1982, but their last stadium show here was in Coimbra in October 2010, on the 360 tour. They came back in 2018, indoors, for two nights at the Altice Arena.
There’s a new record behind this tour too. The band had already announced Carnaval de Luz, with Dolly Parton among the guests, and a title like that is a nod Lisbon won’t miss. The open question is how much new material fits into a set that has four decades of hits to carry.
