The programme for the Festas de Loures 2026 is out, and the maths is friendly: four days, two stages, free entry — and a municipality celebrating its 140th birthday. From 23 to 26 July, Loures, just north of Lisbon, fills up with live music, regional food, crafts and street entertainment in a special edition marking the council’s creation back in 1886.

Who plays the Festas de Loures 2026?

One headliner per night on the main stage: Portuguese pop-folk crowd-pleasers Némanus open on 23 July with DJ Fernando after them, Brazilian rap veteran Gabriel O Pensador takes the 24th, Yasmine and Raya Evolution share the 25th, and indie favourites Os Quatro e Meia close the party on the 26th. Next door, the Palco Mundos leans acoustic and intimate — from the fado of Joana Amendoeira and Coimbra group d’Anto to Luís Severo, Bloom (JP Simões) and Emmy Curl. The official opening is on the 23rd at 7.30pm, led by the Moscavide e Portela firefighters’ fanfare; the full hour-by-hour programme is on the festival’s official site.

When and where are the Festas de Loures?

Thursday to Sunday, 23-26 July, in central Loures — everything free, concerts included. Sunday is built for families: a children’s music show at 10am and, at 6pm, Rogério Charraz joining the Sacavém recreational music society’s band for a concert celebrating Grandparents’ Day. In between you get the crafts fair, the tasquinhas and regional food stalls scattered through the grounds.

The big-ticket festival summer rolls on elsewhere — Paredes de Coura, for one, is selling fast — but Portugal’s municipal festas remain the best deal of the season: live music, bifanas, and zero euros at the gate. If you have a free evening near Lisbon this week, you know where to spend it.
