Planning a Perlim trip? The Christmas park is open 21 days this year, and Christmas Day isn't one of them
Santa Maria da Feira's Christmas theme park runs from 28 November to 30 December, 13:30 to 19:00, but closes on 12 of those days. A day ticket is 9 euros for adults and 7.50 for children and over-65s, an all-season pass 16.50, and the Circo Evolution is back for a fifth year.
Perlim, the Christmas theme park in Santa Maria da Feira, is back from 28 November to 30 December. The calendar is a little misleading, though: the park is shut on 12 of those days, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day among them. That leaves 21 open days, always from 13:30 to 19:00.
The closed days are listed on the official day-ticket sales page: Monday 30 November, and 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 14, 15, 16, 17, 24 and 25 December. Every weekend is open, as are the public holidays on 1 and 8 December and the days between Christmas and New Year (26 to 30). The bridge Monday on 30 November is not.
What it costs
The official prices are on Perlim’s price list:
- Day ticket: 9 euros for ages 13 to 64, 7.50 euros for ages 3 to 12 and for over-65s. Under-3s go free.
- Two-day ticket: 13.50 euros, any age from 3.
- Season pass, with entry and re-entry on every open day: 16.50 euros.
By our sums, two adults and two children aged 3 to 12 pay 33 euros for a day. A day ticket allows one entry and no re-entry, so pick your arrival time carefully. Visitors with a disability rating of 60% or more, plus one companion, go free after registering online.
The circus is extra
The Circo Evolution is back for a fifth year running with a new show, “Heritage”, about a circus family and what each generation hands on. Expect a wheel of death, a teeterboard, aerialists and balancing acts. The circus is ticketed separately: side stalls are 16 euros for adults and 13 for children and seniors. If you want both, the Perlim-plus-circus pack starts at 20.50 euros and saves up to 4.50 euros on buying the two separately.
Getting there
Perlim is at the Quinta do Castelo in Santa Maria da Feira, roughly halfway between Porto and Aveiro. From the A1, A29 or A32, take the “Feira” exit. Tickets are sold on BOL, at the official shop and, on event days, at the on-site box office.
If you are stringing together a longer Christmas trip, Óbidos Christmas Village opens on 27 November, the day before Perlim, and with a bit of planning the two fit into one December weekend.
