Marvel's Wolverine has a release date now — September 15 — and a trailer that reunites Logan and Jean Grey
Insomniac Games' Marvel's Wolverine hits PlayStation 5 on September 15, 2026. The new story trailer, revealed at San Diego Comic-Con, shows Logan rejoining Team X, with villains including the Hand and Lady Deathstrike.
Everyone had been waiting for it, and Insomniac Games did not disappoint: inside Comic-Con’s main hall, the studio revealed a new story trailer for Marvel’s Wolverine — and, even better, a release date.
When does Marvel’s Wolverine come out?
It’s set for September 15, 2026, exclusively on PlayStation 5. If you just want the soundtrack, it lands even sooner, on August 28, composed by Emmy winner David Fleming. In other words: it’s a little over six weeks until the claws come out.
What does the trailer show?
The moment that stuck was an enraged but vulnerable Logan face to face with Jean Grey. Three years after walking out on the team, Wolverine rejoins Team X — the mutant task force Jean is part of — on a mission to protect their own. As the threats, the trailer brought in the Hand, Marvel’s ninja organisation, and Deathstrike, tipped as one of the game’s main villains.
Who is making the game?
It’s the same Insomniac Games behind PlayStation’s acclaimed Spider-Man titles, which only cranks the expectations higher. A Wolverine game from the team that nailed Spider-Man has every chance of being the next great exclusive. Comic-Con was once again the stage for the big reveals — it’s where the Avengers: Doomsday trailer also landed. Updates keep coming on the Insomniac Games site.
